THE classic burger place in the El Sereno area. Clean interior (though I missed the arcade games it had years ago), good food, and a rich history to it. Though would recommend on once a week (or two) visit as a treat as prices have been high as of late. Service is good and quick! Would recommend on phone!
Not only are the burgers out of hand, but the staff is super-cool as well! I had a problem with my order and went back to get it fixed - one of the owners, Nicolas, squared things away immediately and gave extra food on top of that! Come here - you will not be disappointed!
The Food is OK for a Miscellaneous burger place. I love their Chicken salad and especially their Greek Salad... they are huge. i just wished that they did not overcook the chicken for either Salads. Their Breakfasts are also delicious and you get huge portions. I would pick this place over McDonald's any day of the week. The only complaint (if you can even call it a complaint) I have is that once I ordered a Menudo and asked them to leave out the hominy. I think the owners are Greek (actually from Greece) and the Greek lady told me that there is no way I can get the Menudo with the hominy. I let her know that at a real Mexican restaurant they serve with or without hominy. I guess she never heard of a colander.
Food is great. They prepare the food quietly quickly. Service is awesome. The cashier looks like she is in a bad mood all the time. The only thing I'm not to fond of it's the shakes.
If you are looking for the best Menudo in LA then look no further than Troy's in El Sereno! I've been trying Menudo from different places including popular "social media" spots ... looking at you "Mr.Menudo" and NO ONE!!! Comes close to taking the top spot from Troy's! The menudo here is so good you don't even need to add any extra condiments to "enhance" the Flavors! Troy's has the best Menudo in LA period!
When you don't feel like cooking, go to Troy's. My go-to lately has been a veggie burger with avocado and jalapeños toreados (or grilled jalapeños in English). Get your nolgastic meal at a reasonable price from Troy's. They are not in the clean restroom business. I suggest you avoid them if possible.
Go to spot for really anything. Burgers, quality breakfast, and Mexican food. There's plenty of parking and is accessible to the freeway. Never too full so you can find a place to sit. Staff is always friendly. Mostly writing this review for updated menu pictures.
A typical "everything" on the menu kinda spot. They have breakfast lunch dinner and everything in between like milkshakes Not a bad spot but not 5 star gourmet dining. I don't mean that in a disrespectful manner since I frequent troys burgers on my lunch break. Usually get the burger combo since you can't go too wrong there. Fries with seasoning is a must for me. I enjoy this spot and they are very affordable and the turn around time for the food to be ready is fairly quick and accurate. Polite staff is a plus not a bad spot to try
